Long before he became a celebrity barber, Marcus had an inclination of just how talented he could be with cutting hair after he picked up his first set of clippers in 6th grade.After a self-given hair cut turned out amazingly well, he knew he was on to of something. Upon graduating high school, Marcus enrolled in barber school with the ultimate goal of one day owning his own barbershop. He hit the ground running and not long afterwards opened techniques Barbershops & Salons in the south suburbs of Chicago.
No one in Marcus family had ever owned a business or even cut hair, so he was met with a fair share of skepticism but work hard against all odds, determine to rise above it all. In the early 2000’s Marcus got his big break when Barbershop came to Chicago and he was hired as a barber and barber consultant .
He not only provided the cast with haircuts but provided vital insight into how barbers and barbershops operate , an important role in ensuring the films authentically.More projects have since followed making Marcus one of the most sought after barbers in the TV/Film industry.
When not busy giving fresh cuts and doing hair for A-listers, Marcus enjoys his role not only as a business owner but as an influential figure in his local community.
