Dr. Nataka Moore is full professor at Adler University in the Department of Psychology and faculty advisor for the Adler Black Student association. Dr. Moore is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of clinical and academic experience. Dr. Moore, as a human rights activist, has led major social justice based international initiatives.
Dr. Moore has been honored and recognized by the National Council of Schools of Professional Psychology for her superior commitment to women’s issues. In Cuba her work centered around racial equality and women’s rights as she co-led a delegation of 19 women through her work with the US women and Cuba Collaboration.
In the Dominican Republic and Liberia she worked with issues related to human rights and mental health. In the Dominican Republic she trained the staff at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees around social determinants to health. Dr. Moore is also leading several mental health initiatives in Chicago at large.
As co-founder for Chicago Global Health Alliance, a non-for-profit, Dr. Moore has led programming in communities that are under-served for the promotion of well-being and healthy behaviors. Dr. Moore also provides mental health education and screenings across Chicagoland.
